Initialization

Posted by hpshaiti under: Personal walk .

It’s time to get this thing started. My tendency is to set something up and then spend hours tweaking it before I actually get around to doing anything serious with it! Anybody else like that?

But I thought this first post would be a good time to share my Bible verse for the year. Actually it’s not so much a verse this time as a phrase.

“The Joy of the Lord is my strength”

It comes from Nehemiah 8:10 where Nehemiah tells the people who are mourning for their sins that the day is sacred not to grieve but to rejoice
“… for the joy of the Lord is our strength.”

The Lord is teaching me that His joy is what is to keep me going, even when things aren’t going too great and I don’t “feel” like rejoicing.

Remember the little chorus we learned in Sunday School? Check out this site. http://rockhay.tripod.com/worship/music/joyofthelord.htm

Dude, you even have music downloads on your site! Way to push the tech envelope Paul! God bless you as we keep our eyes on HIM!

With Heads Held High

"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high."                                                                                                                                         Leviticus 26:13

Our mission in Haiti is to communicate to everyone we touch that he/she is a child of God. As a son or daughter of promise each has self-worth and can "walk tall."
